My name is Peggy Curet. I work at the Carroll County Family Center Y as a Member Services Representative. I have been working there for about a year and a half, but before working there I was a member. I joined the Carroll Y as a member about 4 years ago and loved it. The Carroll Y is a great place to both workout and work at. The members and staff are so supportive and friendly. You can find me 5-6 days a week either working behind the front desk, or working out in one of the many areas of our center.

Carroll County Family Center Y
Hello! I am Stacie Jones from the Carroll Center. I have been a Member Service Representative for almost 18 years. I have seen many of kids grow up and bring their families into the Y throughout my years. I have seen our building grow and hopefully continue to grow for another 18 years. My husband forced me 18 years ago to apply to the Y and immediately got the job. I was hired to work Tuesday and Thursday nights. I went home to tell my friend and with me watching her boys immediately got the job also working on Tuesday and Thursday nights. She has since moved on to work at 2 different Y's in Florida. We both still keep in contact with our Building Supervisor from back in the days.
I love working with my team in the "oval" (our front desk). We work very well together and consider ourselves family and would do anything for each other. I work both mornings and evenings and love all the members on my shifts. On Mondays and Wednesdays, I work both the AM and PM shifts. I truly work for them! I will call our members if I do not see them from week to week to check in with them. I even call our members who are no longer coming to the Y.
My hobbies include my son, my cat and my husband (in that order). haha! My son is almost 21 years old, so yes he grew up at the Y. He would sit at the front desk if we got busy and would swipe in the members and say, "Hello and Thank You". It was wonderful until he figured out that all the other kids were playing. Now, he is at University of Maryland-College Park studying government and politics. Someday he will be your Senator or Congressman. VOTE JONES! I have a beautiful cat named Katie and she is 15 years old. My husband and I are high school sweethearts (South Carroll High in Carroll County). We have been married for 21 years. I work for him every once in while doing craft service on commercials. He is a producer/director at a local Baltimore production company on TV Hill. Maybe that is my hobby???
Thank you for reading all about me!

State Director
MD Youth and Government, Y of Central Maryland
I am a Y employee. I used to be the Senior Program Director at the Dancel Family Center Y but left in 2005 after my son was born. I am back at the Y as a trainer and the State Director for Maryland Youth and Government. My two kids are in the Tot's Day Out program at Dancel and participate in other Youth programs there. I also work out at Dancel on a (semi) regular basis.
Fitness Instructor
Dancel Family Center Y
Hello, I’m Jessica Pearsall and I live in Ellicott City with my husband, Todd. We have four children: Austin 11, Alex 13, Amber 21, and Amanda 23. We have been Y members at the current center for 15 years – but I remember being five and going to swimming lessons, preschool, and sewing lessons with my mother. Todd was once honored as Y Youth of the Year – the Y has always been a part of our family – even before we were a family.
I teach Strength Training on the Ball. In our spare time, my husband and I enjoy training for marathons and triathlons – or at least I enjoy it – he tolerates it!
Y Member and Preschooler Parent
Carroll County
I’m Wendy, a full-time working mother of 2 young boys, ages 2 and 3. I joined the Carroll County Family Center Y about a year ago. I was so out of shape that I couldn’t keep up with the instructor using the light weights, and now I can complete all the reps with the maximum weights available…and run for the first time in my life. Maybe now I can keep up with the kids…maybe! My older son attends the Chipmunks preschool program in Finksburg (his second year), and my younger son can’t wait to start next year to be just like his big brother. I love hearing my older son sing songs, tell me things he learned about that day at school, and talk about his new friends. Our favorite family activity on the weekends is just spending time together and going to amusement parks in the summer. Luckily they’ve got my enthusiasm for rides!
